Get to Know Russell Teasdale, DMD
Dr. Teasdale began practicing dentistry in Portland in 1981, formerly Advanced Dental Arts NW, with the goal of providing high-quality, personalized care for everyone. Through the decades, the longstanding qualities of individual attention, as well as attention to detail, have remained at the forefront. He continues to be driven by his passion for helping people struggling with sleep, snoring, and TMJ issues achieve a higher quality of life. Dr. Teasdale is an artisan, in the unique medium of teeth and facial esthetics and occlusion. He views dentistry as an ideal blend of esthetic artistry, engineering, and attention to detail--the ultimate challenge of excellence.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Teasdale has always loved helping people solve complicated issues. Nothing makes him feel better than earning a patient’s trust and then improving their life through conservative and comprehensive care.
Dentistry is, perhaps contrary to popular perception, a dynamic and rapidly evolving profession. Dr. Teasdale loves being on the crest of explosive changes and has enjoyed his continuous education almost as much as he has working with his patients and team members. No other field of medicine allows for the same amount of flexibility, degree of patient interaction, and potential to design a practice to operate as the doctor feels appropriate like dentistry. It is something he will never grow tired of, and he still looks forward to coming to work every day. Not many people can truthfully say that, and it keeps him forever young.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Teasdale graduated from Pomona College with a degree in Government and earned his DMD at Washington University in St. Louis. Since then, he has accumulated thousands of hours of advanced training through Spear Education and other institutions in fields as diverse as TMJ, orthodontics, bonded porcelains, facial esthetics, occlusion, and airway development.
He graduated from the United States Dental Institute in Orthodontics in 1994, and is a Fellow of the Academy of Minimally Invasive Dentistry. He is also a Fellow of the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies and an active member of the VIVOS Institute.
His commitment to lifelong learning and dedication to only use the best technologies have enabled him to consistently be at the forefront of the most major breakthroughs in dentistry. Thanks to this, he was the first general dentist to achieve Elite Provider status with Invisalign in Oregon.
